Lukaku looking to build on recent heroics
Everton will be looking to build on their cup exploits when they face Arsenal in Matchweek 31's opening fixture on Saturday.
Buoyed by victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals and against an Arsenal team who were knocked out by Watford at the same stage, Roberto Martinez will be hoping his side can get back into the top half of the Barclays Premier League table with a win at Goodison Park.
Although Arsenal have won twice as many BPL meetings between the sides at Goodison, 10 to Everton's five, Arsene Wenger's side have not left there with three points since Thomas Vermaelen sealed a 1-0 win in March 2012.Lukaku lit up Saturday's win over Chelsea with a superb brace and has already surpassed Tony Cottee's previous club record tally of goals in a BPL campaign with 18 this term.
His shot-conversion rate has jumped from 13.2% to 25% while his goals-per-minute ratio has plummeted from 287.5 to 134.7 compared with last season, when he struck only 10 times.
The Belgium striker also has six assists, and only Riyad Mahrez (15 goals, 11 assists) has been involved in more league goals than him in this campaign.
