Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder has completed his move to Turkish club Galatasaray following a contract dispute with Inter Milan.
The 28-year-old Sneijder signed a 3 1/2-year deal Tuesday reportedly worth (euro)5 million ($6.6-million) per season.
Sneijder says he had several transfer offers but chose Galatasaray, which he described as a “top club” and “still in the Champions League.”
Sneijder joined Inter Milan in 2009 and helped it to a number of trophies. In November, Inter technical director Marco Branca said Sneijder would not play until he made a decision about his future, with a new deal reportedly requiring him to take a pay cut.
Thousands of Galatasaray fans greeted Sneijder on his arrival in Istanbul on Monday.
