Stop panic buying. We have enough supply to last 30 days- NNPC tells Nigerians

  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has once again called on motorists to shun panic buying of the product. In a statement released today by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC said at the moment, it has over 1.5 billion litres stock of PMS, which is equivalent to over 30 days sufficiency.   ‘’The NNPC Ltd. is also collaborating with relevant downstream agencies, such as the Nigeran Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labour unions in the sector and security operatives, to address hoarding and other unwholesome practices.'' the statement in part reads Nigerians have suffered fuel scarcity in the last three weeks. The fuel queues are however thinning out.

  Bayern Munich have placed Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on a new list of possible successors to outgoing manager, Thomas Tuchel.   According to Sky Sports, Bayern have contacted Ten Hag’s agent Kees Vos to enquire if the Dutchman would be open to taking over at the Allianz Arena. No formal talks have taken place with Ten Haag himself, but he has been made aware of Bayern’s interest.   Ten Hag communicated to his agent that his sole focus is on finishing the season strongly with the Old Trafford side, who still want to secure European football and win the FA Cup. The 54-year-old, has been confident of remaining at the club beyond the summer despite the uncertainty over his position as INEOS make sweeping changes to the football structure.   The judge presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money trial has fined him $1,000 for violating his gag order and sternly warned the former president that additional violation could result in jail time.    The fine marks the second sanction for Trump for inflammatory comments about witnesses since the start of the trial last month.    He was fined $9,000 last week for nine violations.    Judge Juan M. Chelsea strategy to convince Osimhen and Napoli of summer transfer

80% of Lekki buildings have no approval - Lagos Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban development says

  The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Oluyinka Olumide, has stated that 80 per cent of buildings in Ibeju Lekki have no approval.    Olumide disclosed this while speaking to newsmen recently.    In his words;   “Just last week Thursday and Friday, myself and the team were in the Ibeju Lekki and Epe axis and you would agree with me that anybody passing through that corridor would see a lot of estates marked. We went there, and I can tell you that from what we saw, over 80 per cent of them do not have approval. The procedure to get approval is first to get the planning information, as to what those areas have been zoned for. In this case, what we have is agricultural land, and people now go to their families to buy agricultural land. Of course, those lands would be sold because those families do not know the use such land would be put to. The next thing to do is the fence permit.   ABUJA– The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ordered the stay of proceedings in the contempt charge that was instituted against the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, over the planned trial of the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Justice Jamil Abdullahi of the Kogi State High Court had summoned the  EFCC  Chairman to appear before him on May 13 to show cause why he should not be committed to prison for allegedly disobeying his orders pertaining to the case against the erstwhile governor. The summon followed a suit marked: HCL/68M/2024 and a motion No: HCL/190M/2024, which the former governor who is facing a 19-count charge the anti-graft agency preferred against him, filed before the court.   Bello contended that the EFCC Chairman flouted an interim order the high court made on February 9, when he directed officials of the Commission to lay siege at his Abuja home in a bid to effect his arrest.   A Nigerian lady identified as Roseline has died due to severe burns after she was pushed into a big pot of boiling grounded fresh pepper and tomatoes by her friends in Delta State.     Activist, Comrade Israel Joe, who confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on Friday, May 3, 2024, said Roseline died last Friday after two weeks of fighting for her life in a hospital in Warri.     According to Joe, before Roseline passed away, she revealed that her friends were ‘beefing’ her but she still travelled with them for a catering job in Sapele where the incident happened.      The activist is demanding justice for the deceased, vowing to bring the perpetrators to book     RIP, dear Rozzy.   Moniepoint and Paga have notified customers that their accounts will be blocked if they facilitate crypto transactions with it. This is coming after CBN ordered some new banks including Moniepoint to stop onboarding new customers.  This notification signifies a complete turnaround of the  announcement  by the Central Bank of Nigeria to lift the crypto ban instated in 2021.  In the notification sent to customers today, May 2, 2024, Moniepoint said "In line with CBN regulation we will close the account of anyone engaging or other virtual assets transactions and share their details with relevant authorities.  Paga also sent an email to customers saying that it is licensed by the CBN and needs to comply with all CBN regulations.  "Pursuant to the CBN circular with reference FPR/DIR/GEN/CIR/06/10, we wish to remind you that dealing in or facilitating transactions in cryptocurrency and other virtual currencies is not permitted."   A graduate of UNIZIK Awka registered for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) The candidate studied chemistry at the university but wants to be a medical doctor which was why she registered for the JAMB exam in 2024 Her result has been made public, showing that she got an aggregate of 324 in UTME as she seeks to re-enter the university  Uka Juliet Chidiebube scored 324 in the JAMB UTME. Juliet studied chemistry at UNIZIK, graduating as the best student in the Department of Chemistry in 2021. She graduated from UNIZIK with a first class, but she is determined to become a medical doctor, which is why she sat for JAMB in 2024. President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has claimed that the West and various international monetary lenders keep Africa in continuous poverty.
