Edward Snowden the NSA whistleblower, is to remain in limbo at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport a while longer after the Russian Federal Migration Service failed to process his documents on time, suggesting that Mr Snowden’s entry to Russia may be more difficult than expected. Mr Snowden’s Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena said the whistleblower’s entry into Russia was delayed only because of the complexity of Mr Snowden’s asylum request. “He has not been refused [entry],” Mr Kucherena said. “The current situation is not standard for Russia. We have come to the conclusion that we’ll wait a while longer. We hope that the issue will be decided in the coming days,” he said. According to its website, the migration office takes up to one week to decide whether it will allow a foreign asylum-seeker to enter Russian territory. After that, the service takes up to three months to decide whether it will actually grant the individual asylum.

Lauryn Hill has just reported to federal prison in Connecticut, where she will begin her 3 month sentence for tax evasion. Officials tell TMZ ... the former Fugees singer was booked into the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury at 11:15 AM EST. (Yesterday July 8th) We're told the FCI is a "minimum security type facility" where inmates live in "barracks type" housing. The money was transferred to OJB's account on Friday July 5th. Lagos State governor, Raji Fashola was also in touch with OJB's family and facilitated the stages of dialysis OJB is undergoing at LASUTH. The ailing pioneer music producer has thanked Governor Amaechi for his generosity. "I really thank God for Governor Amechi's kind heart. All I can say is that God will fight his battles as he saved my life. I also thank all Nigerians from all works of life who heeded my appeal for funds to go for my kidney transplant. Security forces shot dead at least three supporters of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi on Friday as a crowd of hundreds tried to march towards the military barracks in Cairo where he is being held by the military that overthrew him. Two criminal charges has been filed against Chris Brown by L.A City Attorney, in connection with a minor accident last month where he rear-ended a Mercedes and allegedly refused to exchange proper information with the other driver. THE British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Andrew Pocock, has cleared the air on the controversial £3,000 visa bonds for Nigerian visa applicants to the United Kingdom (UK). Pocock, who met with the Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Olugbenga Ashiru, on Tuesday, said the visa bond projects was not what was reported in most of the Nigerian media. He added that the British government “has announced that it intends to undertake a very small scale trial of the use of financial bonds, as a way of tackling abuse in the immigration system – which occurs when some people overstay their visa terms.” He said “the details of a pilot scheme are still being worked out,” adding that no final decision had been made. According to Pocock,  “if the pilot scheme were to go ahead in Nigeria, it would affect only a very small number of the highest risk visitors. “The vast majority would not be required to pay a bond.
