'I'm still only 26 and it's great to receive an offer from a club (Galatasaray) playing Champions League football and doing well in the competition.'   25 year old former US marine and Afghan war veteran Alex Minsky has turned his tragedy into triumph. He lost his right leg in an explosion in 2009 after driving over an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan when he was just 21. After losing his leg, he fell into depression and heavy drinking but with the help of his family, he found himself again and made some changes in his life. He also started working out regularly at a gym and that was where he was discovered by model scouts. Alex is now a sought after fitness and underwear model. "I just want people from nearby and far away to be inspired to try harder and never give up on themselves" Alex said in a recent interview. "I didn't set out to be an underwear model. I was just taking care of myself and working out. It just so happens that I look good in underwear.   Wizkid was involved in an accident around 3: 30am this morning in front of GET Arena as he left the Nokia Lumia Beat party which held at the Oriental Hotel in Lekki. Fortunately, the only thing damaged in the accident was the Porsche Panamera S car worth about N10m which he recently bought. Wizkid and other passengers in the car were unhurt. According to my paparazzi who witnessed the accident and took the photos, the accident was caused by a burst tyre. Wizkid, who wasn't the one driving, was quickly taken away in another car. Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has dismissed reports linking him with a return to England as "absurd"      "I've always said that I'm happy at Barca. Lionel Messi has been accused of tax fraud to the tune of £3.4million. And reports in Spain suggest the Barcelona superstar could face up to six years in jail if he is found guilty. A lawsuit was lodged against the Barcelona forward and his father by a state prosecutor for the north eastern region of Catalonia. The complaint has been submitted for trial in Gava, the upscale Barcelona district where the 25-year-old lives. Both Messi and his father, Jorge Horacio, are accused of three offences against the public purse for allegedly defrauding more than £3.4m in income tax returns relating to the years 2007, 2008 and 2009.

JOHANNESBURG, -- South African President Jacob Zuma will visit the ailing Nelson Mandela in a pretoria hospital, his spokesman said Monday, adding that this would be done discreetly "at the appropriate time." A statement from the president's office earlier in the day reported no improvement in Mandela's condition. The country's beloved former president remains in a serious but stable condition as he is treated for a lung infection, the statement said. "[Zuma's] focus now is to allow the medical team every opportunity to concentrate on their job, to allow the closest relatives to go there and be close to him," presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj told reporters. The 19 year old terror suspect was cornered on a small boat in the back of a house and captured alive Friday night. Dzhorkhar was found by a man who discovered blood trails to a boat at the backyard of a home in a Watertown neighborhood. The man looked inside the boat, noticed movement, and called the police. An hour later, a seriously injured Dzhorkhar, who escaped an overnight shootout with police that left his older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev dead, was captured and taken to the hospital, bringing an end to one of the the biggest manhunts in recent US history.     A deadly explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant yesterday night Wednesday April 17th has left at least 15 people dead, including five volunteer firefighters and one police officer. The blast, which measured 2.1 on the Richter scale according to Reuters, left the town of West, 20 miles north of Waco, 'like a a warzone'. Over 180 people were injured in the blast, while dozens of homes and buildings were destroyed. Public safety officials say they expect the death toll to rise and that re scue efforts have been hampered because of hazardous chemicals in the air following the explosion. The F.B.I. today released still and video images of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings - including a man who was seen setting down a backpack at the site of the second blast - and appealed for the public’s help identifying the men. One was seen placing a dark-colored backpack outside the Forum restaurant, the site of the second bombing, just minutes before the explosion, said Richard DesLauriers, the special agent in charge of the F.B.I.'s Boston field office. “Today we are enlisting the public’s help to identify the two suspects,” Mr. DesLauriers said at a news conference on Thursday evening in Boston. In the video, both men are carrying backpacks, and wearing baseball caps, one a dark cap and one a white cap turned backward. They are walking along Boston Street.    N igerian student, Olaolu Femi, who has been in detention in the Lungask district of Ukrain for about a year after being arrested for attempted murder has been released. He was released today. Ukrainian police charged him with attempted murder, but according to eye witnesses, Olaolu was defending himself against six Ukrainian teenagers who attacked him at the entrance to his apartment block last year. Olaolu was said to have managed to get up and defended himself against the assailants with a glass from a broken bottle. "It was while he was defending himself that police arrived at the scene and the Nigerian was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder of five people" a Nigerian embassy staff who had knowledge of the case said at the time. source: linda ikeji
